Considered one of the bestselling real estate locations on Long Island, Centereach is a beautiful community that is known for its family-friendly neighborhoods and beautiful weather. Since its inception, the town has been one of the fastest-growing communities in the area and continues to attract many new residents every year.
Below is a list of some of the most prominent residents, former residents and natives of Centereach, NY:
Donald L. Heck
Popularly known as “Don,” Heck was one of the most prominent comic artists of the 20th century. He is credited with co-creating the Iron Man character for Marvel Comics on top of being a long term penciler of The Avengers superhero comic series during the 1960s. Heck was born and raised in the prominent borough of Queens in New York City but later relocated to Centereach on Long Island. Prior to joining Marvel Comics or Atlas Comics as it was called at the time, he worked for several other publications including the now-defunct Harvey Comics. Heck died at his Centereach residence in 1995 at the age of 66. He will forever be remembered as one of the greatest comic artists of all time.
Thea Megan Trinidad
Known to her fans by her ring name Zelina Vega, Trinidad is a popular professional wrestler, actress, and professional wrestling manager. Just like Heck, Trinidad was born in the borough of Queens where she lived for most of her childhood. She debuted as a professional wrestler in 2010 and is currently signed to WWE where she appears on Raw. Trinidad briefly resided in Centereach before moving Florida in 2018 when she married fellow wrestler Aleister Black.
Steven D. Smith
Also known as Steve, Smith is a renowned New Hampshire politician and businessman who currently represents Sullivan County in the New Hampshire House of Representatives. Born in Queens, Smith attended Centereach High School in the hamlet of Centereach. Despite being a software tester by profession, Smith has slowly climbed up the political ladder to become of the most influential political figures in the State of New Hampshire.
Tracey Claire Fuchs
Last on the list is Fuchs, a former field hockey player who represented the United States in the 1988 and 1996 Summer Olympics in Seoul and Atlanta respectively.  Fuchs grew up in Long Island where she attended Centereach High School. She rose from being a simple street hockey player to become a force for the Centereach Cougars and later the Huskies. After college, she joined the national team in what would turn out to be a very successful career that lasted 17 years. Fuchs currently works at Northwestern University where she coaches the field hockey team.
